Ford F-150 Ranked “Most American” Vehicle in Cars.com Annual Index

Just before the 4th of July, Cars.com announced that the Ford F-150 ranked #1 on its 2014 American-Made Index, which rates vehicles built and bought in the United States. The annual index considers factors such as the percentage of parts considered domestic under federal regulations, whether the car is assembled in the U.S., and overall U.S. sales. Cars.com disqualified models with a domestic-parts content rating below 75 percent, models built exclusively outside of the U.S., or models soon to be discontinued without a U.S.-built successor.

This is the F-150’s second year in a row in first place, as well as the Toyota Camry’s second consecutive year in second place. The bottom four spots went to first-timers for the index. Overall, we’re seeing a strong showing of foreign automakers Toyota and Honda, which took seven of the top 10 spots.

Check out the top 10 list below and the Cars.com 2014 American-Made Index.
